Hakan Calhanoglu, Federico Dimarco, and Marcus Thuram enjoyed a superb 2024, forging the backbone of Inter Milan’s return to prominence.
According to FCInterNews, they were the best-performing Nerazzurri stars last calendar year.
It’s perhaps unfathomable that Lautaro Martinez isn’t on par with them.
However, it’s worth noting that El Toro has suffered a significant dip in form this season.
Last year, he was virtually unplayable.
Indeed, he won the MVP and Capocannoniere awards for his incredible exploits in the 2023/24 title-winning season.
But the Argentine has stuttered this term, though he returned to the scoresheet against Cagliari last weekend.
Dimarco has become one of Europe’s best wingbacks.
Therefore, it’s barely surprising he’s sitting at the top of the pile.
Calhanoglu was also phenomenal, especially last season when he tallied 13 goals in Serie A.
After a turbulent summer packed with wild speculation, the Turkish playmaker picked up where he left off.
As for Thuram, it’s fair to say he’s Inter’s standout performer at the moment.
In addition to being Serie A’s joint-top scorer, the Frenchman is arguably among the most skilled forwards in European football.
Alessandro Bastoni and Nicolo Barella are up there with the formidable trio.
