Celtic transfer target Stefan Bajčetić will not be fit until the end of August. The versatile Spanish midfielder has been touted with a move to the Scottish Champions this summer as Brendan Rodgers looks to add quality to his squad.
Journalist Dominic King has revealed on Twitter that the midfielder is expected to return to action later this month, which may account for any delay in transfer activity relating to this link.
The 20-year-old has struggled with injuries but has made 22 appearances for the Premier League side, scoring once. The reported deal relates to a loan with an option to buy, which would be shrewd business for the hugely talented player.
While Celtic appear to be fairly well stocked in the midfield, the club may be aware of interest in a player and may be drawing up contingency plans in case they move on.
Celtic signed JSP from Manchester City as Brendan sought to bolster his backline. The highly rated Man City prospect will come in and look to compete with Auston Trusty and Liam Scales for minutes beside Cameron Carter-Vickers. Celtic fans will be eager for movement on the transfer front with a real focus given to the attacking third. Celtic appear to be light up front and in the wide areas and if the club harbour ambitions to progress in Europe then major investment is required to add quality in attack.
