AC Milan are very close to finalising a deal with Feyenoord for Santiago Gimenez in January, but there is a small obstacle that still needs to be overcome.
In the past few days, Milan have been relentless in their efforts to sign Gimenez, and with Alvaro Morata and Francesco Camarda leaving, the door is open to an arrival. Despite no agreement in place yet, the Rossoneri are confident about a deal, and today, reports have stated how close a deal is.
As Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Marco Guidi states, there was a meeting between Rafaela Pimenta and Feyenoord last night to finalise an asking fee – which is between €35-40 million. However, the Rossoneri have not yet raised a bid to match that figure.
Furthermore, the news of the draw does not impact anything about a deal, and things can still proceed as planned despite the news that the two clubs will face each other in the Champions League.
The reasoning for this is that ‘Santi has a promise’ according to Daniele Longo, which suggests that this is the final thing needed for the Mexican to achieve his ‘dream’. At present, the Diavolo are in a strong position, but they just need to close negotiations now.
