Noah Okafor is now ‘very close’ to leaving AC Milan after positive talks were held with RB Leipzig today over a loan operation, reports claim.
There have been a couple of developments on the Okafor front over the past 24 hours. Firstly, the forward returned to training with the rest of the squad having recovered from a muscle injury. Secondly, there have been negotiations over a potential exit, which have advanced.
According to what is being reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Okafor is now on the verge of joining Leipzig. Today was an important and very positive day for the two clubs, who are close to an agreement over a loan with an option to buy for around €14m.
The Swiss international was ‘hesitant in recent days’ about the move but is now ‘in favour’ of it, which would see him rejoin the Red Bull world after his time at Salzburg. Noah would therefore leave Milan after 18 months in which he was almost always a reserve.
MilanNews are reporting that there is still no agreement, but the two managements have tried to reach a meeting point. Leipzig are looking to secure a buy-out clause at around €10-12m, while Milan are asking for €14-15m.
Fabrizio Romano claims that Okafor and his camp have agreed on personal terms with RB Leipzig. Talks are ongoing with Milan to agree on a loan with buy option until June, with salary fully covered by the Bundesliga side.
