Joaquin Correa will not be at Simone Inzaghi’s disposal for Inter Milan’s Serie A trip to Venezia next Sunday.
According to the club’s website, the 30-year-old forward has suffered a strain to his left calf muscle.
Therefore, Inter’s medical staff will evaluate his condition in the coming days.
However, this injury effectively rules him out of contention for the matchday squad against Venezia.
In any case, he would’ve likely been on the bench.
Indeed, Inzaghi welcomed Marcus Thuram back from a minor muscular problem upon Inter’s return from Saudi Arabia.
The Frenchman will probably regain his place in the starting XI alongside Lautaro Martinez.
With Thuram fit again, Mehdi Taremi will return to the bench despite his incredible performance in the Supercoppa Italiana final.
However, FCInterNews reports the club’s still waiting for Hakan Calhanoglu’s test results.
The star midfielder left the field in the 35th minute, suspecting a muscular problem.
Kristjan Asllani, who took his place against AC Milan, would likely be Inzaghi’s go-to option if Calhanoglu fails to recover.
But there’s still a decent chance for the 30-year-old to make the starting line-up at Pier Luigi Penzo.
