Participation in the Club World Cup is certainly lucrative for the clubs.

However, at the same time, FIFA have taken one notable step to recoup some of the cost of the prize money for the teams.

The organizers of the Club World Cup will charge teams for each yellow card that a player receives at the tournament.

A first yellow card incurs a fine of €12,000. Meanwhile, it is a €15,000 fine for a second yellow card. Then, a €20,000 fine for a straight red card.

For Inter, that means that they will pay FIFA a €36,000 fine for yellow cards received by Nicolo Barella, Kristjan Asllani, and Lautaro Martinez against Monterrey in their group stage opener.
