Inter are set to face Roma after the international break without Marcus Thuram, as the French striker continues his recovery from a thigh problem picked up in the Champions League win over Slavia Prague.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, tests and therapy sessions over the past few days at Appiano Gentile have shown steady progress.
However, the club’s medical staff are determined not to rush the process.
“Better to respect the timing of French muscles,” the report notes.
La Gazzetta emphasise that there is no setback in the recovery, only caution and no desire to take risks.
The target is for Thuram to return at full strength for the October 25 trip to Napoli, a match the forward is “eager to be part of – not at 70%, but at 100%, and free of any fear of relapse,” writes La Gazzetta.

A comeback against Antonio Conte’s side is considered possible but not certain.
Therefore, the first few days of next week are expected to provide clarity.
If there is any delay, Thuram’s appearance in Brussels against Union SG on October 21 will be ruled out entirely.
Despite the likely short-term absence, there is no concern within the club.
Therefore, this allows Chivu’s staff to manage Thuram’s recovery patiently.
“At Inter, the situation has changed – there’s life behind the ThuLa,” the report concludes.
This signals confidence that the club are in capable hands even without one of their star players.
