Wolves have had five managers in five years at Molineux. ExpressAndStar.com reports the run spans from Bruno Lage’s arrival in June 2021 to Rob Edwards’ exit in June 2026.
Bruno Lage took charge in June 2021 and led Wolves to 10th. He departed after a 2-0 defeat at West Ham United left them in the bottom three with six points from eight matches of 2022/23.
Julen Lopetegui replaced him in November 2022 with Wolves bottom and guided them to 13th, then left days before the next season’s opener against Manchester United amid differences of opinion on certain issues.
Gary O’Neil arrived in August 2023 and secured 14th, with wins over Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham, plus an FA Cup quarter-final. He left in December 2024 with Wolves 19th, four points behind fourth-bottom Crystal Palace, after a 2-1 home loss to Ipswich Town, their fourth straight league defeat and 11th in 16 league matches.
Vitor Pereira took over in December 2024 and later signed a new three-year deal in September. He was dismissed after 10 winless league games, a 3-0 defeat by Fulham their eighth loss that left them bottom, despite a strong finish the previous term and his ‘points then pints’ rallying call.
Rob Edwards was sacked this week following relegation. Appointed in November on a three-and-a-half-year contract from Middlesbrough, his exit surprised many given indications he had been hired to build a side for a Championship return next season.
