RFEF will not grant Barcelona licences for Dani Olmo and Pau Victor

La Liga made it perfectly clear that Barcelona have not done enough to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor in their statement before the end of December deadline. Barcelona emitted their own statement prior to that, explaining that they had requested licences from the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), but that will do little for them according to the latest reports.

According to Diario AS, the RFEF have no intention of granting Barcelona those licences without the green light from La Liga. They are keen to maintain the newly improved relations with La Liga, as evidenced by President Rafael Louzan appointing La Liga President Javier Tebas to his board. Their information is that Barcelona were attempting to buy time by placing the issue in the hands of the RFEF, but they are not willing to get involved. Similarly, MD corroborate this report by stating that the RFEF only ratify players’ licences, rather than make the decision.

It appears Barcelona are running out of exits to turn down, and may have to face the music when it comes to Olmo and Victor’s playing status. The Blaugrana have leaked to local press that they remain convinced they will be able to register both players, and expect to be able to give further details on the third of January.
