As part of the process of strengthening the squad for the Apertura 2025 of Liga MX and the Leagues Cup, Guadalajara has added a new reinforcement. This is Richard Ledezma, who comes from playing at the highest level of European soccer and who will put all his experience at the service of the Rebaño Sagrado, together with the firm desire to proudly defend the Rojiblanca jersey. Here is everything you need to know about the new Guadalajara player.
Who is Richard Ledezma?- He was born on September 6, 2000 in Phoenix, Arizona, but he is Mexican by birth, being the son of Mexican parents.- He plays as a right winger, although during most of his formative years he was used as a midfielder.
His career as a soccer player- He was formed in the academy of Real Salt Lake in the United States, and also played with Real Monarchs of the MLS Next Pro.- Subsequently, he was detected and signed by PSV Eindhoven, who after a few seasons loaned him for a season to New York City of the MLS.- After his adventure in the American Union, he returned to PSV, where he earned an undisputed place in the team.- With the Dutch team, Ledezma played 2 editions of the Champions League, including the most recent one. In addition, he also participated in 3 Europa League and 1 Conference League.
His track record- Richy has won the Netherlands League of the 2023-24 season, the Netherlands Cup of 2021-22 and the Netherlands Super Cup of 2023.
His conditions as a playerRichard Ledezma is an extremely special case, as much of his career was spent as a midfielder between the lines, very close to the box. However, last season he was in charge of defending PSV's right flank, an area in which he became an undisputed starter and got a lot of minutes.
In terms of conditions, he has very good virtues. One of them is his great positioning between the lines, which he combines with his extraordinary individual mobility. He is used to playing near the front of the area, an area that he takes advantage of due to his tremendous turn and great ball striking to participate in final actions.
The fact that he has gone from attacker to defender reflects only one thing: his great understanding of the game. Ledezma can play in different areas of the field, which makes him a very useful asset for Guadalajara for the AP25 and the Leagues Cup.
Welcome to the Rebaño Sagrado, Richard!!!!
