Rivals hoping for another Bayern slip-up in the Bundesliga

The giant Bayern Munich, who dropped their first points in the German Championship before the FIFA break, return to the field this weekend against Freiburg, with all their pursuers hoping for another stumble in this 11th round.

Everything is going well for Bayern this season, even when they don't win: the 2-2 draw with Union Berlin in the 10th round should have reduced their lead over their rivals, but RB Leipzig (2nd) were defeated by Hoffenheim (3-1) and Borussia Dortmund (3rd) drew with Hamburg (1-1).

After wasting the chance to close the gap with the leader, Leipzig needs to recover playing at home against Werder Bremen (8th) on Sunday, a day after Bayern visits Freiburg (10th).

It is likely that coach Vincent Kompany will rest some of his players with an eye on next Wednesday's match against Arsenal, a direct clash for the top spot in the Champions League.

Battle for the Top 4

Another highlight of the round is the clash between Borussia Dortmund (3rd) and Stuttgart (4th), both tied with 21 points.

After two inconsistent years, Dortmund have found stability this season, despite the defeat in the "Klassiker" against Bayern.

Outside the top 4, Bayer Leverkusen (5th) visit Wolfsburg (14th) without losing focus on the match against Manchester City on Tuesday in the Champions League.

Meanwhile, Eintracht Frankfurt (7th) will bet on the goal-scoring form of Jonathan Burkardt (6 goals) to face Cologne (9th) away from home.
