Rob Edwards hopes the FA Cup can provide respite in a dark season for Wolves. According to ExpressAndStar.com, the campaign is described as destined to end in relegation to the Championship, making a cup run all the more valuable.
Wolves won at Grimsby on Sunday to reach the fifth round and will host Liverpool at Molineux. The tie leaves them two wins from Wembley.
Edwards said the players are sticking by him and that the Grimsby win showed it. He felt they listened and tried to carry out instructions.
He pointed to the spirit, character and fight of those who are set to be with the club next year, qualities he wants embedded at the club.
He added that such commitment should be a bare minimum, though he noted it does not always happen in the modern game. He hopes a sustained run could offer some relief for the club and supporters.
