Robert Lewandowski has announced he will leave Barcelona this summer when his contract ends, posting the news on Instagram on Saturday.

The 37-year-old Poland striker has scored 119 goals in 191 appearances across four seasons in Catalonia. He won three La Liga titles in 2023, 2025 and 2026, plus the Copa del Rey in 2025.

In a farewell message, he reflected on four demanding years, said he felt he had fulfilled his mission and thanked supporters for their early and enduring backing. He described Catalonia as his adopted home, offered special thanks to president Joan Laporta and signed off with tributes to Barça and Catalunya.

Barcelona paid homage, labelling him a legend who arrived as a star. Coach Hansi Flick, who previously worked with him at Bayern Munich, called it a privilege to coach him and praised his daily standards as an example to young players.

Lewandowski’s departure draws a line under a prolific four-year spell that underpinned Barcelona’s recent domestic success.
