Rodolfo Landim has appointed former Botafogo coach Cláudio Caçapa to take charge of Confiança, the Sergipe club in which he is now a SAF shareholder.
According to Coluna Do Fla, Landim became a shareholder after losing Flamengo's 2024 election, and sealed the deal with Caçapa this week.
Caçapa was Botafogo's interim coach in 2023 as the team surged to the top of the Brasileirão, then later fell away. He returned in 2025 as assistant and was recently dismissed by John Textor amid cost-cutting.
Landim leads the LG2 group whose Confiança project was approved in November 2025, with up to R$ 500 million to be invested over 10 years. The plan targets a new training centre, stadium modernisation and promotion to Série B.
Caçapa's arrival is aligned with the SAF's short, medium and long term goals, including competing for trophies in 2026 and helping to build a solid, winning professional structure.
Elsewhere at Flamengo, president Luiz Eduardo Baptista, Bap, could echo a Landim landmark. Landim won the Recopa Sudamericana in 2020 at the Maracanã by beating Independiente del Valle. Bap can secure an international title on Thursday 26 against Lanús in the Recopa second leg, kick-off 21:30 Brasília time, at the Maracanã.
