Rodrigo Garro scored the winner for Corinthians against Athletico Paranaense on Thursday night, his first in more than five months, making him the club's 11th different scorer of 2026.
The decisive moment arrived on 21 minutes when Matheuzinho's cross was cleared, the Argentine controlled and lashed a left-footed strike from outside the area, and keeper Santos got a touch but could not keep it out. According to Meu Timao, the midfielder has started only six of the team's 12 matches in 2026 after knee and calf issues and pre-season surgery on his left wrist.
His strike moves him level on the club's 2026 scoring chart with Matheus Bidu, Dieguinho, Kayke, Gui Negão, André Ramalho and Gustavo Henrique, while Yuri Alberto leads with three.
Garro has also registered two assists this year.
Corinthians will now focus on player recovery and hope to have Garro available on Sunday for a decisive Campeonato Paulista quarter-final away to Portuguesa at Canindé, with kick-off at 20:30.
