Roma have enjoyed a brilliant start to the campaign, sitting fourth in the Serie A standings, three points adrift of table-toppers Inter Milan.
However, Roma have struggled for goals, netting 16 times — the joint-fewest among the teams in the top half of the table.
As a result, Roma are planning to strengthen their attack in the winter transfer window to build on their impressive start to the campaign.
The Giallorossi are considering a swap deal involving Artem Dovbyk and Everton striker Beto, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Dovbyk has struggled for Roma this season, scoring just two league goals, while Beto has fallen behind Thierno Barry in the pecking order at Everton.
Sanctioning the deal will not be difficult, as both Roma and Everton are owned by the Friedkin Group.
The proposed deal will not affect Roma’s pursuit of Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee — their first choice target.
United are open to letting Zirkzee leave on a loan, plus an obligation to buy for €45 million, contingent on Roma’s qualification for the Champions League, but the Italian side wants the buy-out clause reduced.
Roma are considering terminating the loan deal of Evan Ferguson from Brighton & Hove Albion, which would help them complete the proposed Beto-Dovbyk swap and a move for Zirkzee.
In addition, Roma are keeping tabs on Tottenham Hotspur’s Mathys Tel and Atletico Madrid forward Giacomo Raspadori as they look to bolster their attack in next month’s transfer window.
Fiorentina versatile forward Albert Gudmundsson, Genoa youngster Jeff Ekhator, and Corinthians striker Yuri Alberto are also on their radar.
