Giacomo Raspadori’s future is at a crossroads as Atletico Madrid have officially informed the striker that they have accepted an offer from Roma. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Spanish club communicated the agreement to the player on Friday afternoon, describing the move to the capital as a “market opportunity.”
The Italian international has not yet given the green light, as he has requested three to four days to evaluate his options and reflect on his future. Notably, the deal agreed upon by the two clubs is a loan with an obligation to buy tied to specific conditions. However, the report indicates that Raspadori is keen to speak with Diego Simeone first and may prefer a permanent transfer over another loan formula.
Furthermore, the race for the former Napoli man is far from over. Lazio remain a serious contender and could potentially offer a permanent deal following the windfall from Taty Castellanos’ move to West Ham. In addition to the Roman rivalry, Galatasaray have also emerged as a suitor, having made a formal enquiry about the 25-year-old’s availability.
Consequently, no final movement is expected until after Atletico’s match against Real Sociedad on Sunday. The ball is now firmly in Raspadori’s court as he decides which project best suits his ambitions for 2026.
