Roma and Mile Svilar are working together to reach an agreement over the goalkeeper’s new contract.
The goalkeeper has in fact reached the seasonal record of clean sheets in Serie A, shared with Sommer and Di Gregorio.
Since Ranieri’s return, Roma has become the best defense in the championship, with just 13 goals conceded in 18 games. An impressive average of 0.7 goals per game, better than that of Atalanta, Inter and Napoli.
Even in the last match against Lecce, the Serbian goalkeeper confirmed his state of form, saving on Gallo and proving to be impeccable in guarding the small area.
Despite the performance on the pitch being clear for all to see, Svilar’s contractual future with Roma is not yet defined, writes La Gazzetta dello Sport.
His current agreement is valid until June 2027, but negotiations for an extension with a financial adjustment are still at a standstill.
Roma have reportedly proposed a salary of 2 million euros plus bonuses, while the player’s entourage have set the bar at 4 million net. The goalkeeper’s desire is to remain in the capital, but time is still needed to find the right agreement.
