With just a few days left until the transfer window closes, Roma are hard at work making final deals for Gasperini.
As Il Messaggero reports, in a meeting yesterday at Trigoria between Gasperini, Massara, and Ryan Friedkin, the manager asked to go all-in on the attacking winger.
To get him, the manager is willing to forgo expanding the squad. Spending on players who don’t improve the team’s quality is pointless.
The reference is to the 2025 winter transfer window, when Gollini, Rensch, Gourna-Douath, Salah-Eddine, and Nellson arrived.
Only the first two remain.
The manager hopes to secure his coveted winger by Monday.
The targets are Tel, Sauer, and Summerville. The first two appear unsellable, while the English club is asking €40 million for the third. And the closer the transfer window closes, the higher the prices become.
Massara knows that the Friedkins are willing to invest €25-€30 million for the winger, having acknowledged Gasperini’s decision not to seek further reinforcements.
As reported by Corriere della Sera, Roma has suspended negotiations for Wolfe and Fortini and blocked Tsimikas’ return to Liverpool.
The Giallorossi are only targeting the attacking winger. Massara has six more days to satisfy Gasperini.
He will try again for Sauer, valued at €35 million. If he fails to secure the top-tier profile the coach wants, he will opt for Carrasco.
