Roma rekindle interest in Atletico’s Riquelme | OneFootball

Roma are back on the tracks of Atletico Madrid attacker Rodrigo Riquelme.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Roma could rekindle their interest in Riquelme in the coming weeks.

This wouldn’t be the first time capital club opened talks for Riquelme – contacts with the player’s entourage started about a year ago, when the Giallorossi had asked for information on the player’s pricetag.

At the time, the valuation by the Spanish club was around 25 million euros, a figure considered high for a talent still in the process of fully expressing himself.

Today, the price is said to have dropped significantly, oscillating between 15 and 17 million euros.

Gian Piero Gasperini, however, does not consider him an absolute priority for the role of second striker in his playing system.

The management of the capital club is however aware of the need to operate carefully on the market, given the limited economic availability to reinforce more areas of the field. As a result, Riquelme could become a viable option for the Giallorossi.
