Roma had a busy end to the January transfer window, bringing in five new players overall, three of whom arrived on deadline day in what was Claudio Ranieri’s first transfer window in charge of the club since replacing Ivan Juric earlier in the season.

The January transfer window ended at 23.00 GMT on Monday night (Click here to see all the confirmed transfers on deadline day).

The Giallorossi spent just over €14m on transfers and loan fees over the course of the January transfer window, and have options to buy on two players, which, if activated, could push the total spend above €44m.

Roma transfer re-cap: Rensch, Salah-Eddine, Nelsson, Gourna-Douath

Roma’s first addition of the January transfer window was Devyne Rensch, who moved to the capital midway through the January transfer window in a €5m deal from Ajax. His contract was due to expire in the summer. The Dutchman was handed his full debut at the Stadio Olimpico in the 1-1 draw with league leaders Napoli over the weekend.

Pierluigi Gollini also arrived for a fee of around €800,000 from Atalanta. He is expected to serve as an understudy to Mile Svilar, replacing Maty Ryan who joined Ligue 1 side Lens.

Then came the hat-trick of deals on deadline day. Anass Salah-Eddine arrived from FC Twente at a cost of €8m. The left-back was Roma’s only immediately permanent signing on Monday.

However, the Giallorossi also secured the services of Victor Nelsson and Lucas Gourna-Douath on loans with options to buy.

Lucas Gourna-Douath announcement

Nelsson joined on loan from Galatasaray for a fee of €500,000, and Roma will have an option to make the centre-back’s move permanent for €10m and €2m in bonuses in the summer.

It was a similarly structured deal for Gourna-Douath, who joined on an initial loan deal from RB Salzburg. Roma have an option to make his move permanent for a fee of around €18m in the summer.
