Romée Leuchter, the discreet but deadly striker who succeeded Marie-Antoinette Katoto at PSG | OneFootball

At 25 and in her second season at Paris Saint-Germain, Romée Leuchter heads into Sunday’s Coupe de France final against OL Lyonnes in Valenciennes at 15:30 aiming to convert prolific form into a first PSG trophy.

According to L'Équipe, she has become the undisputed spearhead of Paulo César’s attack. She leads the Arkema Première Ligue after the regular season with 14 goals and seven assists, with early braces against Fleury and Le Havre voided after PSG forfeits. She has also scored four times in three Coupe de France ties.

Signed in 2024 from Ajax as cover for Marie-Antoinette Katoto, she delivered 29 appearances, 20 starts and 14 goals in year one. She says the move to a bigger club and a new country required adaptation, and that she now feels more herself.

Teammates describe Leuchter as quiet and single-minded, her Paris routine largely revolving around training and rest. Paulo César views her as a top player who still has off the ball improvements to make, but notes this season has confirmed her qualities.

Griedge Mbock has called it a successful campaign, highlighting her goals and the way individual numbers have come while serving the collective.

Delivering in major fixtures remains a target, she has one open-play strike against the other top four sides, against PFC in a 3-0 Coupe de la LFFP semi-final. She remains optimistic for the final, saying anything can happen, and hopes PSG have a plan to beat Lyon after 1-6 and 0-1 league losses and a 0-1 Coupe de la Ligue defeat.
