The Brazilian striker sat down for interview with his ex-teammate and legend of football, Romario, and was asked about those he has previously played with.
The man who was dubbed ‘O Fenomino’ by his adoring fans had a magnificent career in the game. Playing for the likes of PSV and Inter Milan, the Samba star also crossed the Barcelona and Real Madrid divide, playing for both teams during his time at the top of the game. A sensational footballer on his day, his career was hampered by injuries and we could have seen him achieve so much more if his fitness had been better over the years.

Despite that though, he still managed to bag himself a World Cup and more-or-less single-handedly put Germany to the sword to lift the trophy back in 2002 in South Korea. He played with a litany of stars over the years both at club and international level, making a Betway Sportsbook of superstar contacts including the likes of Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Cafu, Zidane, Beckham, Carlos and Raul and that’s just a handful of the top names this man has shared a dressing room with, such was his gravitas and pulling power.
His former teammate Romario asked him about the best and worst players he played with in his career, and mentioned one former Celt as potentially the worst!

Speaking to his comrade, he said: “There are a lot of them,” as reported by Scottish Sun. “There was one at Real Madrid who was a joke – [Thomas] Gravesen. He was a Danish midfielder. He was a really cool guy, good guy. A little while ago he won a $50million poker tournament or something. But in football he was very bad, he scored and he beat the hell out of people.”
Gravesen of course, spent some time at Celtic Park after he was drafted in by Gordon Strachan in the summer transfer window of 2006. The Danish midfielder and the Scot just never managed to see eye-to-eye and despite some brilliant cameos, was subsequently banished from the team. The stories about Tommy though are many and legendary too amongst those that have played with or managed him – and he was certainly a character!
