Rossi emerged as Flamengo’s hero as they won the Carioca title against Fluminense at the Maracanã, then Andrew raced on to embrace him.
According to Coluna Do Fla, the final finished 0-0 in 90 minutes and went to a penalty shootout, after which Andrew sprinted onto the pitch to celebrate with team-mates.
The newly signed goalkeeper enjoyed his first trophy with the club and was on the bench for the decider.
In the shootout, Rossi saved from Guga and Otávio, clinching victory over Flamengo’s rivals.
The win eased early-season tension after defeats in the Supercopa do Brasil and the Recopa, and the dismissal of Filipe Luís.
With Andrew available, Flamengo return on Wednesday 11 to face Cruzeiro in the fifth round of the Brasileirão. Premiere will broadcast the match on pay-per-view.
