Rovella represents another pearl of wisdom in a surreal Lazio season | OneFootball

Lazio are living through a quite surreal season and the Nicolò Rovella issue just sums up the chaos and confusion at the club, which has seen too much time wasted by bad advice.

The player decided not to go under the knife for a recurring sports hernia problem, opting instead for conservative treatment that has not provided results.

When it was shown that it was not going to work, he finally shook off reservations and accepted the operation.

Rovella could’ve been back by now

It’s incredible to think that Rovella has been out of action since the derby with Roma on September 21, and if he had just taken the surgical route then, he would already be preparing to get back on the pitch.

Instead, time was wasted and he will now be out for around 40 days after finally getting the operation performed.

It makes no sense to say ‘conservative treatment has many times resolved it’ when the time taken is more or less the same, and one approach has guarantees, whereas the other does not.

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru was cut from the squad list to make way for Toma Basic due to the emergency caused by that injury.

Now that Rovella’s absence is confirmed for even longer, Dele-Bashiru can return to the fold.
