Ruben Amorim has turned down an offer from Benfica and another from Saudi Arabia, and is now very close to taking charge at Milan. According to Glorioso 1904, he chose to wait for the Italian opportunity.

The coach is understood to have prioritised Milan’s project over other options that surfaced in recent weeks, including the Lisbon club and a lucrative proposal from Saudi football. That stance paved the way for concrete talks.

Negotiations with the Rossoneri are described as almost complete. The deal is expected to be for two seasons, running to 2028, with an option to extend to 2029.

In Milan, the former Benfica player is set to earn 3.5 million euros net per season, with bonuses linked to trophies and Champions League qualification.

The club have missed the Champions League in the past two seasons, finishing eighth in 2024/2025 and fifth in 2025/2026 in Serie A.
