Benfica are weighing up a new deal for Anatoliy Trubin, with Rui Costa seeking to secure the goalkeeper on a longer contract, according to Glorioso 1904.

The first-choice keeper has produced strong displays in recent games, lifting his market value and attracting interest from major European clubs. The hierarchy want to protect the player to avoid any awkward scenario.

The plan, shaped by Rui Costa alongside the football department and José Mourinho, is to extend Trubin’s agreement, possibly until 2030. His current contract runs until the summer of 2028.

An extension to 2030 would make his situation less enticing for leading suitors, with Manchester City having considered a move last summer. The release clause should remain at €100 million, and there is a strong possibility of a salary review, with the goalkeeper already among the squad’s highest earners.

Trubin, valued at €28 million, has started 30 official matches this season for Benfica, conceding 22 goals in 2,655 minutes. His appearances include 16 in Liga Portugal Betclic, 10 in the Liga dos Campeões, two in the Taça de Portugal, one in the Taça da Liga and one in the Supertaça.
