Benfica’s Liga Portugal Betclic opener against Académico de Viseu will be played behind closed doors following an APCVD sanction. President Rui Costa is encouraging supporters to gather outside Estádio da Luz at an expanded Fan Zone with giant screens.

According to Glorioso 1904, the club used its official channels to invite all members and fans to watch together in the Pepsi Fan Zone beside the stadium.

The intention is to show that Benfica’s strength remains present even without spectators inside. As part of the plan, the team will arrive via the route past the Eusébio statue about 90 minutes before kick-off, around 19:00.

The club has asked supporters to be there at that reception to pass on their backing and confidence to Marco Silva’s players.

Benfica usually enter the ground through the Estádio da Luz garages. Logistics for this initiative have been prepared over the past week with the security forces, NOS and club departments, aiming to create a celebratory atmosphere audible inside the stadium.
