Six-time women’s champions Benfica announced on Wednesday morning that five first-team players will depart when their deals expire. The club said in a statement that Letícia Almeida, Marta Salvador, Zoe Matthews, Daniela Areia Santos and Carolina Ferreira will be out of contract and free to move from one July.

Almeida, Salvador and American Matthews featured in the senior squad this season with limited involvement, with the latter two not playing any official minutes.

Ferreira and Daniela Areia Santos are academy products, and both spent 2025/26 on loan at Valadares Gaia.

They join the already confirmed departures of Andrea Falcón and Carissa Boeckmann from the Lisbon club. Falcón, 29, arrived after winning the Champions League with Barcelona and made an immediate impact in her first season.

Across 34 games she scored nine goals and provided eight assists before prolonged fitness issues curtailed her progress.

Boeckmann, a 22-year-old United States international, leaves after one season, her first outside the US. The midfielder made 13 appearances and scored two goals as Benfica won the Liga BPI and the Portuguese Women’s Cup.
