Rulani Mokwena's MC Alger were held to a frustrating goalless draw by relegation-threatened ASO Chlef in the Algerian Ligue 1 on Friday.
The reigning Algerian champions remain at the summit of the table with 36 points amassed from 15 league outings.
Mokwena's men have won three of their last five matches in the league, with two draws in the process.
Up next for MCA is a meeting against Ben Aknoun in the Algerian Cup Round of 16 on Tuesday, 13 January.
The South African mentor has been tasked with retaining the championship, winning domestic cup titles and guiding the team to the latter stages in the CAF Champions League.
