Leicester City start pre-season on Monday, giving Russell Martin his first sessions before 2026/27. According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, the new head coach begins a League One rebuild and has stressed standards from day one.

Martin said progress needs daily standards, detail and unity, and he wants to build something supporters believe in. He feels a hard-running, courageous team can reconnect with the King Power crowd.

Off-site, 13 youngsters have kept working this summer, among them Bade Aluko, Jake Evans, Sammy Braybrooke, Jeremy Monga, Louis Page, Will Alves, Logan Briggs, Lorenz Hutchinson, Kevon Gray, Jayden Joseph, Misrad Ali, Kirsten Otchere and Bobby Amartey.

Evans and Hutchinson trained with performance coach Curtis Playermade and will return to Seagrave aiming to impress. Evans has also worked on finishing with Dan Holman, while Page has trained alongside him.

Alves faces a pivotal pre-season after a 2025 loan at Cardiff and a 15-game spell at Huddersfield. Braybrooke, after loans at Newport and Chesterfield, looks almost certain to add to his single senior outing.

Briggs and Otchere, regulars for the Under-21s, are set to be assessed by Martin. Otchere struck nine in 16 league matches, and with Evans and Hutchinson is among the current centre-forward options.

Aluko, Gray, Joseph, Amartey and Ali trained in Morocco with peers including Southampton's Sutura Kakay, while the club have yet to confirm whether Ali, Amartey or Briggs have accepted new deals. Monga trained in the Algarve with the Gersh Football agency, Smart Coaching's Montel Adofo and other young players.
