Diego Fuoli sparked an anti Pedro Sánchez chant during CE Sabadell’s promotion celebrations at the city hall, capping a boisterous night as the club marked its return to professional football.

According to Superdeporte, on the balcony of a PSC-led council building he told fans he would throw out a phrase, said Pedro Sánchez, and the packed Plaza de Sant Roc replied with the slur "hijo de puta".

The party followed promotion secured against Zamora on Friday. The parade began at the Nova Creu Alta and finished at the town hall, where mayor Marta Farrés and councillors greeted the squad and head coach Ferran Costa before speeches.

Wearing yellow glasses, Fuoli took the microphone for around two minutes but was repeatedly interrupted by pleas for him to stay. He said he had not expected the season they had lived together and that he had scores saved up, although he would not air them.

He hinted some of that was aimed at Eldense, who went up directly from Group two while Sabadell did it via the play-offs after a tight finish. He joked that many of those on his list had been on holiday for a month, and the square broke into a derogatory chant about Eldense.

Fuoli also touched on talk from Zamora this week highlighting that Joan Soteras is sporting director Lucas Viale’s father-in-law. He offered ironic thanks to Soteras.
