Tunisia have dismissed Sabri Lamouchi, 54, as head coach a day after their 1-5 World Cup defeat to Sweden in Monterrey on Sunday, with Hervé Renard appointed as his successor.
According to L'Équipe, Renard, 57, is expected to land in Monterrey at 3.30pm local time on Tuesday on the direct Paris to Monterrey flight. He is then expected to take his first session at 8pm at the Rayados training centre at CF Monterrey.
This will be his third national team at a World Cup, after Morocco in 2018 and Saudi Arabia in 2022. He has been out of contract since leaving Saudi Arabia.
Renard is expected to be joined by analyst Nicolas Baudoin, fitness coach David Barriac and goalkeeping coach Gilles Fouache. That would in turn prompt the departure of Olivier Pédémas, who arrived with Lamouchi.
Wahbi Khazri, invited by the federation to assist Lamouchi for the tournament, is expected to remain until the end of the competition.
Renard will make his Tunisia debut against Japan on Sunday 21 June at Monterrey's Estadio BBVA.
