Ismael Saibari has lit up the World Cup, scoring three crucial goals and leading Morocco into the last 16. The 25-year-old, born in Terrassa, has broken into Europe’s elite.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Bayern Munich will pay 55 million euros to sign him on a deal to 2031, with an agreement in place with PSV Eindhoven.
He joined PSV in 2020 for 200,000 euros and across six seasons scored 42 goals, helping win three straight league titles. He was named Eredivisie player of the season last term.
Saibari made his World Cup bow against Brazil. Operating off the striker, he times runs between centre-backs and stretches defences with a quick stride, often finishing low after surging from deep.
At Bayern he would compete directly with Jamal Musiala for the role behind the number nine. His position should not impinge on Harry Kane’s scoring ambitions.
