According to L'Équipe, Ligue 2 side AS Saint-Étienne are exploring a move for Rayan Raveloson, 29, the Young Boys Berne midfielder, as they look to reinforce their midfield.

The club have been quiet this winter but could act in the final week of the window. Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Reims, suffered despite playing eleven against ten, was their sixth loss in twenty league matches and has unsettled the hierarchy.

Their worries deepened when Mahmoud Jaber went off after nine minutes with an adductor problem, while centre-back Chico Lamba sustained a fresh hamstring issue.

Saint-Étienne sit fifth, two points off second place held by Red Star, which brings automatic promotion to Ligue 1. Reinforcements are being considered in central areas, with Pierre Ekwah still absent.

One option under review is the Madagascar international Raveloson, under contract until 30 June 2028. He previously played in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 for Tours, Troyes and AJ Auxerre, before moving to Switzerland in the previous winter window. A right-footed defensive midfielder, he can also operate across the rest of the midfield.
