The tournament’s opening fixture presented a 3-nil win for Saint Martin over Sint Maarten in Group A.

Following a scoreless first half, Souleymane Aubriet placed Saint Martin in the lead in the 61’, with the first goal of the Qualifiers, capitalizing on a perfectly weighted cross from Wilfried Plumain.

Aubriet secured his second of the match in the 68’, doubling Saint Martin’s advantage on a fast break, slotting the ball at the bottom-left corner following a through ball from Raphaël Gavarin.

Gavarin rounded out the result with a goal of his own in the 86’, leaving his defenders behind with an individual effort down the right flank before striking from in the box.

Trinidad and Tobago 0-1 Barbados

The second Group A fixture of the day featured a 1-nil victory for Barbados against group hosts Trinidad and Tobago.

Adam King scored the winner for Barbados in the 75’, sending the ball to the back of the net with a header, assisted by Ashaun Grecia.
