Mohamed Salah has remained in Liverpool and won’t feature in Tuesday’s Champions League match against Inter, after a tense few days between the forward and manager Arne Slot.
Salah’s absence follows a blunt post-match interview after the 3-3 draw with Leeds, where he suggested the club had “thrown him under the bus” after being left on the bench for a third consecutive game.
The 33-year-old didn’t play a single minute at Elland Road, and hinted that his relationship with Slot has taken a downturn.
With the Africa Cup of Nations starting next week, Salah was already due to leave shortly, but he now looks set to miss Liverpool’s weekend clash with Brighton as well. His omission from the Inter squad has only fuelled further questions about his future at Anfield.
