The Premier League’s return after the international window was always going to present a next step challenge, as the transition of a slightly altered team continued against a resolute opposition.
The lineup and subsequent ratings are listed below.

The giant Brazilian stopper was in command from the opening minute as he looked to be reactive against the counter.
After the restart, the Reds keeper was largely untroubled as his team dominated the pitch.
The Hungarian captain was tasked with the inverted fullback role and drove forward relentlessly.
As the game resumed, the former RB Leipzig star was able to utilise his unmatched physical presence in midfield and saw a tremendous long-range shot saved spectacularly.
The Hungarian international rattled and attacked at times and a yellow card for diving meant he was replaced early on.

After the half-time break, the former Ajax prodigy was able to use the ball smartly and was constantly energised.
Man of the Match
The German international was too often surrounded by the opposition and could not impose his game in the first half.
The Dutch attacker was a decent outlet who worked back and gave a good performance of intelligence to try and create avenues.
In the second half, the goal-scoring wide man was again ineffective for the most part.
The France attacker was well marked and looked a little redundant in a thought-first half.
In the second period, the former PSG player was again unable to impose his game.

The Egyptian King was a willing runner, however, he was often outnumbered by a diligent low block.
