Sam Kerr will leave Chelsea at the end of the season after six and a half seasons, the club confirmed on Thursday. The 32-year-old Australia striker will depart when her contract expires.
Kerr joined in late 2019 and has been pivotal, winning five league titles, three FA Cups and two League Cups.
She has scored 115 goals in 157 matches and departs as Chelsea’s all-time leading league scorer.
Ahead of a final outing against Manchester United on Saturday, Kerr said she was happy looking back on her Chelsea career and extremely grateful to have represented the club for six years, winning as many trophies as possible.
The forward has twice won the league Golden Boot and finished second in the 2023 Ballon d’Or France Football.
She suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in January 2024, returned this season, and still registered 16 goals in 29 appearances in all competitions.
