Santos fan dies after police truck incident at Neo Química Arena | OneFootball

A Santos supporter died after being hit by a Military Police Shock Troop truck in the car park at Neo Química Arena on Sunday, during the match against Red Bull Bragantino in the fifth round of the 2026 Campeonato Paulista.

The victim was named as Alex Nunes Pinheiro do Carmo, nicknamed Acarajé, well known among Santos fans and a regular at Peixe home games. According to Diario Do Peixe, he had a disability, used crutches, and had previously received help from players including Rodrygo and academy athletes.

The Military Police said the supporter was in a blind spot of the vehicle. Nearby Santos fans complained about the speed of the truck.

Civil Police and IML teams attended the scene to establish the facts. The case has been recorded as involuntary manslaughter in the driving of a motor vehicle.

The public security secretariat expressed sorrow in a statement. It said that once the reports are completed, they will be analysed for the appropriate measures.
