Santos keeper thrilled with call-up for Under-17 World Cup

Goalkeeper João Pedro, a standout from Santos’ youth academy, has been called up by Dudu Patetuci to represent the Brazil U-17 National Team at the U-17 World Cup, which will be held in Qatar from November 3 to 27.

A champion of the South American U-17 Championship this year, João celebrated the new opportunity:

“It’s an immense joy to be called up for a World Cup. It’s the realization of a dream. I hope to do my best while wearing the national team shirt to help in the pursuit of our goals,” said the 17-year-old goalkeeper.

The squad will report to Granja Comary, in Teresópolis (RJ), on the 20th, and will fly to Qatar on the 28th.
