Santos have released midfielder Caio Araújo to SJK in Finland, waiving training compensation and retaining 40% of any future sale. He had aged out of the youth ranks in January and was out of the club's plans.

According to Diario Do Peixe, agents Antonio Carlos and Luciano Bebe presented SJK's offer to the club.

His contract had been due to run until December, and the club had even contemplated terminating it. He was not being used by under-20 coach Vinicius Marques, though he was part of the squad that won last year's state title at that level.

Araújo joined Santos in August 2024 for the under-20s after a spell with Grêmio. He had played at under-17 level there from 2022 and faced Santos in that year's national semi-final, then featured for the under-20s in the Copa do Brasil and Brasileiro.

In April 2023 he was on the bench for Grêmio's senior side in a 2-0 Libertadores defeat to The Strongest at the Hernando Siles Stadium.

After arriving at Santos he made six appearances in the Paulista under-20, one in the Brasileiro under-20 and three in the Brasileiro de Aspirantes.
