According to Diario Do Peixe, Santos have sacked Vojvoda on Wednesday night after a 2-1 defeat to Internacional at Vila Belmiro in the seventh round of the Brazilian Serie A.

Santos fell behind to a Zé Ivaldo own goal, Neymar equalised from the penalty spot, then Carbonero struck late to decide it. The final whistle was met with loud jeers from the home crowd.

The loss extended a three-match winless league run, two draws and one defeat. Santos slipped to 16th on six points, hovering near the relegation places.

Vojvoda leaves after 33 games in charge, recording 10 wins, 13 draws and 10 defeats. Hired in 2025 amid a relegation fight, he kept the side up, but 2026 has brought only four wins in 16 matches.

Now without a manager, Santos have little time to reset. They visit Cruzeiro in round eight on Sunday 22 at 16:00 Brasília time at the Mineirão.
