Santos announced on Friday the signing of forward Rony from Atlético-MG on a three-year contract, for about €3 million, R$18 million.
According to Globo.com, the 30-year-old becomes the club’s third addition for 2026 and is an option to replace Guilherme, who has joined Houston Dynamo in the United States.
Rony said he is eager to play with the fans behind him at the club’s home, adding that he feels very happy to be part of the group and hopes to show that on the pitch. He believes the supporters’ backing will be important for him and the squad, and that they can make history in the shirt.
For Atlético-MG, he made 65 appearances and scored 14 goals. He had been signed from Palmeiras for around €6.5 million, with 50% allocated to Palmeiras, 35% to Athletico-PR and 15% to Rony.
Santos have registered Rony and made him available to head coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda for the next Paulista round. They visit São Paulo on Saturday at 20:30, Brasilia time, at Morumbis.
