São Paulo clubs set the pace as Brasileiro Feminino pauses for FIFA dates and men’s World Cup

Four São Paulo state clubs, Corinthians, Palmeiras, São Paulo and Ferroviária, occupy the top four as the Brasileiro Feminino pauses after 12 rounds. The break covers the women’s FIFA window and the men’s World Cup, and only one side remains winless.
According to Globo.com, the round closed on Monday night with victories for São Paulo and Corinthians, and the league returns on 24 July.
Corinthians lead on 28 points, followed by Palmeiras on 27, São Paulo on 26 and Ferroviária on 22.
Completing the top eight are Flamengo on 22 points, Bahia and Cruzeiro on 21, and Internacional on 20. At the foot, Vitória have three points and are the only winless side, with Botafogo on five also in the bottom two.
Corinthians boast the division’s best attack with 31 goals. América-MG have scored six, the lowest tally, and sit 16th on six points, the first team outside the relegation zone.
São Paulo have the meanest defence with eight conceded, while Vitória have let in 28. The women’s calendar still brings the third phase of the Copa do Brasil from Wednesday to Saturday, then activity halts. The women’s national team face the USA in friendlies on six and nine June, and the men’s World Cup runs from 11 June to 19 July.
