The São Paulo Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened a criminal investigation into alleged ideological falsehood by members of Corinthians’ Conselho Fiscal linked to the approval of Osmar Stabile’s 2025 accounts. According to Globo.com, prosecutor Cássio Conserino is examining the meeting that underpinned the recommendation to approve the accounts with reservations.
The inquiry centres on the presence of Haroldo Dantas at the council’s session on the eve of the Conselho Deliberativo vote, despite a document removing him from duties over a conflict of interest because he represents companies of the club’s president. He nevertheless chaired the meeting and signed the minutes endorsing the opinion, which then guided the Deliberativo vote days later.
The previous year’s numbers showed a deficit of R$ 143.441 million in the club’s accounts. Even so, the administration secured a significant win when the accounts were approved.
In a representation signed on Wednesday, Conserino ordered the hearing of Ronaldo Fernandez Tomé, a member of the Conselho Deliberativo’s Ethics Commission who had removed Dantas, for next Monday. He also requested that club officials be notified of the opening of the criminal procedure.
Prosecutors will seek evidence that could support a possible charge of ideological falsehood. The Conselho Fiscal members targeted by the probe are Paulo Schmidt Pimentel and Cláudio Luiz Senise.
