Pape Matar Sarr was on target in a Senegal win while Cristian Romero, Rodrigo Bentancur and Richarlison all played their parts in 3-0 wins for their nations in South America.

15 Tottenham players were called up for their senior national teams, hoping to help their teams to World Cup qualification.

One player that achieved that feat this week was Rodrigo Bentancur as Uruguay eased past Peru in Montevideo.

The Spurs midfielder earned his 70th cap for his nation and played all 90 minutes of the match, winning 12 duels and creating four chances for his teammates.

Goals from Rodrigo Aguirre, Giorgian De Arrascaeta and Federico Vinas were enough to earn the three points.

Elsewhere, Sarr’s goal for Senegal meant that they beat Sudan 2-0 in a crucial match for them in their World Cup qualifying campaign.

That result puts them three points ahead of Sudan in their qualifying group and only one point behind group leaders DR Congo.

Richarlison came off the bench for the final 11 minutes of Brazil’s 3-0 win over Chile, and in what could be Lionel Messi’s final match for Argentina, Cristian Romero played 90 minutes and kept a clean sheet in a 3-0 win over Venezuala.

On Thursday, both Brennan Johnson and Ben Davies started Wales’ huge 1-0 win over Kazakhstan to keep their side top of their qualifying group. Davies played the full 90 minutes and kept a clean sheet but Johnson was subbed off after 65 minutes.

Mohammed Kudus also played on Thursday for Ghana, and provided a beautiful assist for Jordan Ayew to open the scoring. But the Super Eagles would eventually be pegged back to draw 1-1 against Chad.

Djed Spence could have become the first Muslim player to play for England after he was named in the England squad for the first time last week but was an unused substitute in their 2-0 win over Andorra. The full-back will hope to get minutes against Serbia on Tuesday.

And finally, Lucas Bergvall and Guglielmo Vicario were also both unused subs for Sweden and Italy respectively. Sweden conceded a late equaliser to Slovenia to draw 2-2 whilst Italy won 5-0 against Estonia.
