Reports in Italy claim that Sassuolo have an agreement in place to sign Canada international Tajon Buchanan on a permanent basis from Inter, while Sunderland continue to apply pressure for Neroverdi winger Armand Lauriente.
According to reports from Calciomercato.com, Serie B champions Sassuolo have an agreement in place with Inter to sign Buchanan in a permanent deal worth somewhere between €7m and €8m.
The 26-year-old has been on Inter’s books for the last 18 months, but has only registered 16 league appearances in that time, most of them from the bench. That was largely due to a broken tibia that he sustained in July 2024, which kept him out of action for several months.
With no guaranteed spot in the Inter starting line-up once he returned from injury, Buchanan was allowed to leave to join Villarreal on loan with an option to buy in the most recent winter transfer window.
The Yellow Submarine have since decided against activating their option to buy clause, which means that Buchanan remains an Inter player for the time being.

That may soon change, though, given the reported agreement between Inter and Sassuolo for a permanent transfer this summer.
Sassuolo, meanwhile, have recently turned down an initial approach from newly-promoted Premier League side Sunderland for Lauriente, but it is expected that Regis Le Bris’s side will continue to push for the 26-year-old’s arrival.
