Sean Dyche believes one result will not dictate his Nottingham Forest future after defeat at Leeds United.

According to NY Times, he remains in frequent contact with owner Evangelos Marinakis, the Greek shipping and media magnate, and views him as realistic about Forest’s predicament near the bottom of the Premier League.

Forest were unbeaten in four, with wins over West Ham United and Brentford and a draw against Arsenal, before a poor display at Elland Road against a relegation rival. Dyche does not expect that setback alone to push Marinakis towards contemplating a fourth manager of the campaign, after previous departures for Nuno Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglou during six turbulent months at the City Ground.

Forest face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday. Third from bottom West Ham could move level on points beforehand if they beat Manchester United tomorrow.

Dyche says pressure is part of the job and that he told ownership the path would not be smooth. He pointed to a valuable point against Crystal Palace with 10 men, after which Marinakis offered congratulations.

He described the scrutiny as the modern reality, noting he was nominated for manager of the month while some called for his sacking, and cited similar swings around Eddie Howe. With one defeat in five league matches, he added a win next would make it 11 points from six, and he aims to stay even‑keeled to coax results.
