Musovski has had what Brian Schmetzer called a "banner year," but he is still in his doghouse for the red card in the Leagues cup that has him suspended for the remainder of the tournament.

Against Sporting KC, he scored his first MLS hat trick, and the Sounders prevailed 5-2 with a rotation squad using youth to give breaks to the regular starters with the Leagues Cup semifinals and finals on the horizon. Danny Leyva started his first game as a 10, and Georgi Minoungou had an opportunity to see what he can do on the left side.

The Sounders will travel to LA next, to play the Galaxy in the semifinals of the Leagues Cup. By making it to this game, in part due to Andrew Thomas' performance in the shoot-out, the Sounders get a bid into the Concacaf tournament if they win either of the next 2 games and move into the second round if they win the next 2 matches.

After the semi-finals match, the next MLS match is at home against the Galaxy. The Sounders beat the Galaxy in LA 4-0 on August 10th, and similar to much of their season, the Galaxy had very little going for them. They are somewhat dangerous opponents in the semi-finals because their success in that tournament may define their season, since they are in last place in the Western Conference.

After the Leagues Cup, the Sounders face Miami away. Miami is attempting to better their position in the standings and points will be at a premium for both teams. It goes without saying that Miami has been resting Messi and his hamstring in hopes for a big push for titles. They are currently 1 point out of 4th place and a home game for the MLS playoffs.

The Sounders travel to Austin for their next match, they are currently ranked 9th in their division and are also hungry for points in the standings.

The Sounders return home against Vancouver. Vancouver is ranked higher than Seattle and ahead by 5 points in the standings, so the Sounders would have to rely on Vancouver to drop points not just against Seattle, but in other games as well.

The Sounders stay in Seattle to host their rivals, who are currently in a playoff spot and two slots behind the Rave Green. Even if standings points were not part of the equation, which they are, the rivalry game against the Timbers is always a hotly contested match.

After the rivalry game, the Sounders are home against Salt Lake and on the road against NYC, with both teams looking to climb the standings and earn a playoff spot.

LAFC is on the heels of the Sounders, only 3 points behind in the standings, but that puts LAFC on the road for the first round of the MLS playoffs.

To sum up, as the Sounders' attack continues to build momentum, what Brian Schmetzer referred to as the deepest Seattle team ever, they have the opportunity to win multiple titles in the short remainder of the season.

Their offense is in high gear, and a return to defensive stability as players are healthy and avoid red cards, bodes well for a Leagues Cup title that would help them in the CONCACAF tournament this year as well as possibly winning their 3rd MLS title.
